From The Lab

From Another Perspective

Open your eyes to see the truth,
All men with sight that do not see,
Philosophers and kings of age,
Your arguments can never ease
The hearts of those whose ecstasy
Comes with tough times and strange beliefs.

Silent words, in comparison
To loud action, will not impress
The man worth his salt, sweat and blood
Need more than sound for happiness,
A hand to help through his duress,
Is worth far more than you'd expect.

Examples show the many, who,
Would help in times of need and strife,
The folk who, although blindfolded,
Could use a lift to see the light,
The positive role model type,
Perhaps then they would be all right.

Ignore these simple sentences,
A poet's words, his call to arms,
And in the days of your struggles,
When brain and soul cry out alarm,
You'll see that letters hold no charm,
For assistance in times of harm.
